Firefighters and veterans will trade traditional hockey skates for sleds in a friendly adaptive hockey challenge that supports Hockey Mentors. Every registration helps provide free adaptive skating and hockey opportunities for children, adults, veterans, and first responders with disabilities.
Firefighters and veterans are united by a commitment to serving others. The Fire Fighter vs. Veteran Sled Challenge provides an opportunity to strengthen the bonds within your department while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, adults, veterans, and first responders with disabilities. Bring your station, challenge another department, and experience an unforgettable evening together.

Share a unique experience with your crew outside the station while supporting an incredible cause.
No skating or hockey experience is required. We'll provide the equipment and teach you everything you need to know.
Every registered player receives a custom Fire Fighter vs. Veteran Sled Challenge jersey to wear during the game and keep as a reminder of the event.
Enjoy food, refreshments, and time to socialize before the game with firefighters, veterans, volunteers, and families.
Invite your family, friends, and coworkers to cheer you on and celebrate with you throughout the evening.
Get to know the children, adults, veterans, and families whose lives are changed through Hockey Mentors' free adaptive skating and hockey programs.

Can't skate? Never played hockey? Perfect! Many of our firefighters, veterans, volunteers, and participants are first-timers. We'll provide the equipment, instruction, and encouragement—you just bring your willingness to try something new.
Firefighters and veterans share a unique bond. Both answer the call to serve others, rely on the people beside them, and understand the purpose that comes from being part of something greater than themselves.
For many individuals living with a disability or life-changing injury, that same sense of purpose, teamwork, and community can suddenly feel out of reach. Adaptive sled hockey helps restore what was lost—not just the opportunity to play a sport, but the friendships, confidence, and belonging that come from being part of a team.
The Fire Fighter vs. Veteran Sled Challenge is more than a game. It's an opportunity to stand beside those who have faced new challenges, meet the families whose lives are being changed, and help ensure that children, adults, veterans, and first responders with disabilities can experience the same camaraderie that makes the fire service and military so special.

The Fire Fighter vs. Veteran Sled Challenge brings together first responders, veterans, families, and community members for an evening of competition, camaraderie, and purpose. Every registration, sponsorship, and donation helps Hockey Mentors provide free adaptive skating and hockey opportunities for individuals with disabilities and veterans throughout our community.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of competition, camaraderie, and purpose.
