WHO IS HOSTING THE EVENT:

Hockey Mentors is in the process of becoming a non-profit. We are a dedicated group of individuals that love hockey and feel everyone should get the chance to experience regardless of your disabilities. 

WHEN IS THE EVENT:

JUNE 11TH, FROM 10AM-1PM

WHERE IS THE EVENT:

The Troy Sports Center. 1819 E. Big Beaver Rd, Troy, MI 48083

WHO IS INVITED:

The event is for special needs individuals. We know, and welcome, the fact it is a broad spectrum of people. There is no one size fits all for special needs, some are physical, emotional, cognitive, developmental, social, etc or a combination. The goal is to provide an opportunity for those who may have limited experience or none at with ice skating and or playing hockey. Each Guest of Honor can bring family/friends/caregivers. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. 

WHAT IS THE FEE FOR THE EVENT:

The event is FREE. It includes ice skating, skate rental, hockey, t-shirt/jersey, lunch and CPR class. 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING:

Skaters are encouraged, not required, to bring a bike helmet. Best to be safe, especially if you are new to skating. Hockey gear and helmets for Guests of Honor will be provided while playing hockey. 

The rink has both hockey skates and figure skates.

Even though it will be June, it is cold on the ice. Pants, jacket and gloves are recommended.

HOW DO I REGISTER:

There are separate links for registration forms for Guests of Honor and family/friends/caregivers.

THERE IS A CHANGE IN FAMILY/FRIENDS/CAREGIVERS:

Fill out a new registration form and shoot me an email explaining the change.

ARE SPACES LIMITED

Yes, in order to ensure everyone has the best experience and able to participate in all the activities there will be a limit on the number of attendees. It is best to register early to save your spot.

DO I HAVE TO BE THERE THE ENTIRE TIME:

A responsible adult must accompany the Guest of Honor the entire time. As a group you are encouraged to come early and stay as long as you like.
